Earnest intercession will be sure to bring love with it. I do not believe you can hate a man for whom you habitually pray. If you dislike any brother Christian, pray for him doubly, not only for his sake, but for your own, that you may be cured of prejudice and saved from all unkind feeling. Charles Spurgeon
Have you ever wondered why people seem to dislike you for no reason at all? Especially when you know that you did not set out to do anyone any harm. I am here to set the record straight and to let you know why you are hated. The real reason you are not liked is because you are favored and anointed by God. As you become more and more successful, you are going to have haters. People hate you because you have the favor of God over you and his blessings. People are made with you because they do not understand why God always seems to favor and bless you instead of them. Some people feel like you don’t deserve God’s blessings and favor. But if is not for people to decide who should be blessed and who should not. This is God’s choice.
We give our haters too much power. We let their opinions lower our self esteem and dictate our lives. We worry too much about out haters. You do not need your haters to like you. You only need the people that God has ordained for you to like you. Your haters do not have the authority or power to bless you. God does. You may be saying, ” I really do not like people talking about me behind my back”. But I am here to tell you that the people talking about you behind your back are behind you for a reason.
Can you believe that even Jesus was hated by people? He was hated by the religious leaders of that day because he was always challenging their rules and regulations. He told them that their rules and regulations are not helping people. Jesus said in Matthew 10:22 that you will be hated and persecuted for his name sake. Jesus also said in John 16:25,, they hated me without a cause.
Here is what you need to do about your haters:
1. Pray for them- More than likely they are dealing with issues themselves such as low self esteem, jealousy, insecurity and many other issues.
2. Keep the right attitude- Your haters will only be around for a season. Jesus said love you enemies and those who persecute you.
3. Forgive them- When Jesus was dying at the cross one of the last things he said was “Forgive them father for they know not what they do.” When people hate you or persecute you a lot of times the enemy is using them and they do not even realize it. God said forgive others so that He can forgive you.
